MARC KENNEDY JOINS HEAVY SEAS ALEHOUSE IN NEW ARLINGTON LOCATION

ARLINGTON, Virginia. – January 28, 2014 – The Heavy Seas Alehouse Arlington is excited to announce the newest addition to their team, Marc Kennedy. Joining Executive Chef Matt Seeber, Kennedy will play a major roll as Chef de Cuisine in the new downtown Rosslyn location which is set to open February 2014.

With 25 years in the restaurant business, Kennedy brings a wealth of operational knowledge and creativity to the culinary team at Heavy Seas Alehouse. He has worked in every facet of the kitchen, and has cooked for both entertainment and political luminaries over the years. Kennedy brings an organizational expertise to the Heavy Seas Alehouse team that he acquired while working at several prestigious restaurants around the world. He began his career in the Berkshires, eventually leaving to spend a year working as the Chef de Cuisine at Pussers Resort, in the British Virgin Islands. Kennedy settled in Arlington and served as the Executive Chef at McCormick & Schmicks for over 13 years.

As Chef de Cuisine, Kennedy will directly assist in carrying out Heavy Seas Alehouse’s “where great beer meets great food” approach in a restaurant where everything on the menu is made from scratch.

“I’m excited to be working with the Heavy Seas Alehouse crew. I am equally excited to be working with Chef Matt to develop a food culture that focuses on cooking from scratch and has deep ties to our regions agriculture and fisherman. The fact that I get to cook with and pair our menu items with great beer is just icing on the cake!” said Kennedy.

To ensure a seasonal menu, Chef Matt Seeber is perpetually sourcing regional offerings to include in his menu. Whether putting his spin on traditional ale house offerings such as “spicy beer nuts with cutlass amber syrup”, “soft pretzel with blue crab imperial”, or offering dishes prepared with wild striped bass, game, local oysters and house made fresh pasta, or using new flavoring techniques with a wood burning oven, Chef Matt and the Heavy Seas Alehouse team ensure a unique dining experience that perfectly pairs with your favorite Heavy Seas Beer.
